Fundraising for World Youth Day 2005

Down at Surrey beauty-spot Virginia Water, the energetic sponsored-walkers of Holy Family parish at Langley, Slough, were out in force in April '05. ”The walk went well” said Barbara Meaney.  “The day was overcast, but pleasant. The walkers did the first lap accompanied by some supporters, who quickly realised that it was a long way (4½ miles). We stopped for lunch after the first lap and the supporters decided to leave us to walk the second lap on our own (which we did much quicker!). Father Kevin said that he was exhausted after the first lap!  A couple of the young people were also exhausted once the walk was completed, but I think that we all had a enjoyable time!"
