How to be a green Catholic (with a little help from Boromir)

In September, Lux.teachings came to St. Martin de Porres in Luton. 42 young people came along to consider ‘How to Be a Green Catholic’. 

Exorcism, Captain Hook & the Armour of God

There was a fantastic turnout at lux.teachings as we gathered in the parish’s very own ‘upper room’. It was great to see such a mixture of different people: the crowd was made up of young people from the parish, young people from nearby Sacred Heart in Flitwick and we even had some young people from Italy and Spain who were spending some of their summer holidays over here: staying with families in the parish.

Last night, Lux. teachings took a look at the the theme of mercy, which is very fitting as we look forward to the Jubilee Year of Mercy, at the start of this coming church year.

I really enjoyed the Lux Teachings session. I was really interested to learn about suffering, because I was really intrigued as to why we suffer. I learnt so much about suffering and started to understand it! Lots of my questions about God, heaven and suffering were answered and I learnt many new things. I'm glad that we played lots of games and had lots of fun, I think that everyone enjoyed it, especially me! - find out more about this lux.teachings...!

At the end of January we gathered together at Holy Cross, Bedford for lux.teachings led by Fr Jonathan Hill about 'The Gift of Faith'. He talked about the fact that the gift of faith is available to everyone, all we have to do is ask for it.
