Another great day here in Panama City. We began our day with Mass in English, well American really in a beautiful church right next to the Panama Canal. Once again the people were friendly and welcoming. At the end of Mass, we were surrounded by a group of people wanting to know all about us as they spotted we were visitors.
After Mass we headed to the Miraflores Locks on the Panama Canal. We went, really because we felt we should whilst here in Panama but did not expect too much apart from a couple of boats going through the locks - boy, were we wrong! The biggest boats and ships I have ever seen going through locks they shouldn’t fit in. We spent three hours just watching this amazing piece of engineering mastery. Human beings are amazingly talented. Thanks be to God.
Food wise here in Panama City it is mainly American; pizza, pasta, burgers etc. This is great news for our unadventurous pilgrims on World Youth Day as fast food is also aplenty. Not quite the authentic Panama experience we had in mind!
