How to use this site

How does it work?

Find your way around the site by looking in the drop-down bar to your left. As you explore further into a section, more specific pages will become available for you to access.

Alternatively, look below the main box on the homepage (and other pages) at the 'featured areas' of our site. These will change periodically, and will provide you with information in a variety of areas.

Clicking on any name highlighted in blue will immediately allow you to send this person an email (if you have email facility on your computer). If you have no email facility, click on the 'Contact Us' title on the left hand side of the screen, allowing you to email us directly from this website.

Clicking on any organisation or group highlighted in blue will either allow you to send an email, or transfer you to their website. For example, see the Adobe link below. We are not responsible for the content of external websites.

At the bottom of each page, there will sometimes be documents for you to download or links for you to follow. Downloads will often be in Portable Document Format (PDF) and to read them on your computer you need to have certain software. The most popular PDF reader is called Adobe Acrobat and this is freely downloadable  - click Adobe to go to their site and follow their instructions.

If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed - to download a document, right-click on the name, and you will get a menu asking "Save Target As ?". Browse for the folder where you keep your documents, give the download a file name which you can remember, and your computer should then begin to download it for you. Once this is completed (it should only take a few moments depending on the size of the file and the speed of your modem connection) you can either open and view the document straight away or close the process and look at it later.

If you are going to send us a photo, please make sure it is in the .jpg format, and help us by reducing the file size (by decreasing its dimensions in any image-editing program to about 2"/5cm on the longest side) while keeping a reasonably high resolution (over 100 pixels per square inch) before sending it as an e-mail attachment. Photos of young people (say, under 16) need to have parental consent before we can use them on a website and we will therefore need to get back to you on this.

The links at the bottom of the page work in the same way as links throughout the website. To see a huge collection of links that we use at the Youth Ministry Office, click on 'Links and Emails' title on the left hand side of the screen.
