Online resources for prayer

'enlightened prayer'

De La Salle brothers prayer site, links to other spirituality sites, art & icons, Justice & peace, Scripture Finder etc.

The Irish Jesuits’ “Sacred Space” site - beautiful daily prayer resource. If you’re into downloading prayers & reflections for your iPod or MP3 player, and have finished using our own iPray series, try the Jesuits’ Pray-as-you-go site.

Walk the labyrinth onlinen - not Catholic, but an interesting way of combining new technologies with ancient prayer practices.

One of our favourite sites for contemporary meditative videos is One Small Barking Dog. You can also find excellent short documentaries and worship resources at Highway Video.

You can pray the Office online, either through Universalis or the Liturgy of the Hours site (which is American, but does have every part of the Office downloadable through Acrobat Reader).

The Apostleship of Prayer site is an international Jesuit site, offering many practical hints and tips concerning prayer and spirituality, as well as intentions for the day and month.

Beliefnet claims to be the world’s biggest online prayer & spirituality resource, and is very much an interfaith centre, of American flavour.

The CatholicOnline site will give you a wide range of traditional Catholic prayers indexed for any occasion – scroll down a little on the main homepage.

Online Rosaries are available at the St Philip Neri Newman Centre of the Univerisity of Tulsa (but no detail or reflections on the Mysteries) and at the OurCatholicFaith site (with slicker visuals, and atmospheric plainchant, but I’m not sure about the little puffs of incense as you click on each bead….).

There are websites for all areas of Catholic devotion ; click on these links for Medjugorje, Fatima, the Divine Mercy apostolate…..
