With just a few months to go till Festos, the line up for our big summer festival day is starting to take shape. Below you'll find details about some of the acts we will be welcoming at the festival. Keep checking here for more announcements as they are made.
John Bell
John Bell from the Iona Community in Scotland will be the main guest speaker at 'festos'. He works as a composer, author and broadcaster on national television and spends about 7 months a year travelling the world, encouraging people to think about their faith in a new way, to work for social justice and the rebuilding of community. He does not have a mobile phone, driving licence, camera, or wife. He has never surfed the web, played a guitar, or eaten a Big Mac. But he has lots of things to talk about!
CJM
CJM are a music ministry team made up of Jo Boyce and Mike Stanley. Beginning their joint ministry at the Arch-Diocese of Birmingham Youth Retreat Centre, Soli House, CJM have now been in full time ministry for over 10 years. Their music has touched many people from many different backgrounds and is often heard in churches across the country. CJM have a unique way of involving people in liturgy and opening doorways for everyone to praise God. It has been known for even the most tone deaf person to find themselves making a noise resembling a tune after just one morning with Jo or Mike! www.cjmmusic.co.uk
Steve Murray
Much of our liturgy is based on the use of language and there are many reasons why people can find this difficult to access. As a mime artist Steve overcomes the limitations of language and provides new insight into the power of scripture.
Steve, originally from Essex, trained in mime in Los Angeles. He will be with us for the whole festival day, entertaining us with his amazing gift. His vision is to travel, minister to people and touch as many lives as possible with the power of mime. Steve's performances are very powerful demonstrations of the ability of mime to lead people into prayer.
