The team that represented our diocese at World Youth Day in Sydney consists of 11 young people from across the diocese, Fr John from Northampton and 2 NYMO team members. Over the last few months the team got together for 3 formation weekends, spending time to get to know each other, discuss what it's like to be a young Catholic in today's world and to worship together. The most memorable experience of the course (prior to Australia !) was probably the World in Union Walk, when we walked from Aylesbury to Northampton - 50 miles in just two days!

Passionate Youth Discipleship is a bold new initiative on behalf of the Diocese of Northampton to explore ideas about what it means to be a young adult in the 21st century. |

The 4 PYD formation weekends have been taking place over the course of 2007 and 2008, and were a chance for all those undertaking the course to come together to discuss, receive input, share in worship together, encounter Christ in the sacraments and build relationships with one another. To find out more about the weekends, follow the links to the left.
In July 2008, we headed Down Under to World Youth Day in Sydney, Australia. Alongside over 200.000 other young Catholics from around the globe, we xpent 2 weeks sharing with international and ecumenical friends, and using the time as an opportunity to journey in pilgrimage with one another.
