Avril Baigent has been responsible for implementing our diocesan youth ministry strategy, helping parishes and schools to meet the challenge of fulfilling their mission to our young people.

In the course of her research project, leading to the much-acclaimed Y-Church Report published in 2002, she undertook an intensive programme of meetings with Deanery clergy and Pastoral Councils, RE heads and staff, chaplains, youth workers, youth ministries and commissions all over the UK, and made a fruitful visit to the USA. Avril is currently on maternity leave.

As a result, a variety of pilot schemes were implemented throughout the diocese, and a bold initiative in the form of the Ezekiel Project was undertaken.

Avril is married to Martin and they have two young daughters hence Avril works Wednesday to Friday in the office.
