a weekend for young people

Monica Nyazika, Year 10, Cardinal Newman, Luton reports:

I’ve been to Lux four times and there are no words to describe just how amazing every single lux has been. Although the thought of a Christian retreat for a weekend may not be a teenager’s dream, lux certainly turns it into one. It combines making new friends, a holiday, church and God into one gigantic ball of fun! And this year really made me think about sainthood as the theme was lux.halo and becoming a modern day saint. I learnt that the church says that every single one of us is already a saint, but we only have a small s in front of the t (st not St). But my favourite part of the weekend was genuinely the reflection because it brought me and my friends back to earth and made us stop. We realised that we were all there for each other and it brought us so much closer together. But then again I also enjoyed dressing up as a fairy for the fancy dress night! Nevertheless if you’re thinking about going to lux or deepening your faith but having fun at the same time I would seriously recommend you go to lux because it’s such an amazing and rewarding experience and everyone there is friendly. I can honestly say it’s truly worth it!

Below is a clip of Fr Timothy Radcliffe's incredible talk he gave us about Saints:
